About the Conference You may have noticed that there has been a larger-than-usual number of programmes on TV recently, related to Charles Darwin, and the Evolution Theory. The reason for this recent surge is that the 12th February 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birthday. November this year will mark the 150th anniversary of his famous book The Origin of Species. There is no doubt that Charles Darwin played a significant part in popularising the theory, about which his grandfather wrote years before Charles Darwin was born. Today this theory is arguably the biggest single obstacle for people in getting to know God, the church and the Bible. The Theory is presented as fact in schools and in the media, and this has resulted in many people assuming that the Bible cannot be trusted when it teaches that the earth was created some 6,000 years ago. However, there are thousands of people, including hundreds of scientists, who know that the Evolution is nothing more than an unproven theory, and that evidence against it is mounting. For many years the western media have sided with the atheistic agenda, which is behind the promotion of the Theory. Broadcasts are presenting the issue with a great deal of bias, and this has resulted in many people simply not hearing the evidence which overwhelmingly supports the Biblical account of Creation and a young earth. The aim of the conference is to give people who attend a clear idea of the issues, and allow them to judge for themselves what to believe.
