In recent years, a number of surveys have shown that around half the population is unconvinced that evolution can adequately account for the origin and diversity of life on earth. During 2009 - the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth, and the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species - there has been unprecedented media coverage of Darwin and his evolution theory. Yet in spite of this a significant percentage of the population remains sceptical. A recent MORI poll found that more than half those questioned believed that children should be taught about creationism as well as evolution in school science lessons. Only 21% believed that evolution alone should be taught. Despite that - The Evolution Theory is taught as fact, and Biblical Creation is brushed aside as a dangerous myth. The aims of the conference are to separate fact from fiction, present the evidence for Biblical Account, and supply resources and tools, which church leaders can take back to their communities. The conference is open to everyone in positions of leadership in their local church
